Hello! My name is Amy DuBose and I am a graduate student at Colorado Christian University, pursuing my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health. As an intern student actively immersed in rigorous training through a CACREP accredited program, I will be using the skills I have learned and continue to learn in my experience with clients.

Background and Experience:

My bachelor’s degree is in Biblical Counseling, so most of my training and experience have been biblically based. In recent years, I have come to understand more about the science of the brain and how it affects the body and vice versa. As a mom to a child with severe OCD and anxiety caused by PANS/PANDAS, I have a first-hand understanding of working with children who face the unique challenges that come with neuroimmune diagnoses. Having cared for my own son as well as my mother, who has Alzheimer’s disease, I also have a heart for those who are facing caregiver burnout. As I have done (and continue to do) the work to learn how to regulate and co-regulate my emotional responses to help my son, I look forward to helping other parents who struggle with this as well. I also have experience in counseling teen girls as well as women facing crisis pregnancies, and I currently provide online crisis care for a wide variety of acute needs, such as suicide and self-harm. I would define my theoretical approach as Christian Psychology with Cognitive Behavioral leanings. Every modality I use and theory I subscribe to is filtered through the Word of God, but first and foremost, every person who comes into the office to see me will receive the love of Christ and the compassion, attention, and care that every image bearer of God deserves.
